So exciting news, our followers on Facebook are growing steadily, what an awesome feeling, it makes me feel like we are heading in the right direction with our online store, especially as we are getting close to opening our physical store in Raglan NZ.
Kerris’s husband and our brother-in-law have worked tirelessly over many weekends to reclaim our old unused cowshed and turn it into Old Soul Haven, home of treasures old and new, we are beyond thankful and owe them a debt of gratitude (only because we can’t pay them with cash just yet, haha).
Kerri and I have absolutely loved the challenge and enjoyed the process of finding these treasures, combing through auction houses, oohing and arhing and running fingers lightly over 100 year old furniture, art, china and jewellery, marking and scribbling notes on our favourites in the catalogue book, (well I was until Kerri said we weren’t allowed to keep the catalogue but had to hand it back in, bother! So slipped the now violated catalogue into a drawer of this gorgeous French bookcase as I casually walked by, I’m sure they won’t miss just one). It was the same process with the clothes; we love natural fibres so eagerly hunted out those that we vibed with, what a delight, who knew that shopping for someone else could give such satisfaction. Occasionally we would freak ourselves out over spending and keeping to budgets but when something comes along that speaks to you it’s hard not to push the pay now button, recently When I won the bid on the cutest kitchen hutch ever, for more than I intended I was like woah instantly going into a slight sweat and panicked buyer’s remorse but on pick up it was like wow all over again and each time I walked past it at home it brought a smile with warm fuzzies, buyer’s remorse be damned!! sorry but not sorry it was worth it!
These are the things that over the past months we have brought and now present to you, with the hopes that you will love them just as much as us, enough to buy them. So go on, take those fingers and walk them over to the shop button (you know you want too) and press……, warm fuzzies await!!
Blessings from Christine
